Hi Friends, I am back with an irresistible Apple pori recipe. This one is something very similar to a snack from Kerala that many cannot resist. Yeah! You are absolutely right. I am talking about those deep fried fritters of ripe plantains, mmmm… the ever so yummy Pazham pori.
Pazhampori is very close to my heart for so many reasons. One reason is of course that it’s my favorite next only to banana chips and kozikodan Halwa. But the important reason is that I have very fond childhood memories of my dad associated with this snack. Due to his job, we were settled in Mysore and a family visit to Kerala was an affair for the summer vacation. But every once in a while dad would take me for a weekend visit to my paternal grandma. It was a journey I very much looked forward to. We used to have a lot of fun. Every time the bus stopped (twice for tea and once for lunch), my Dad used to get me these delicious Pazham pori with a glass of hot milk. I would not eat anything else. It was one of the many well kept secrets that I had with my dad.
I know that there are a lot of recipes for this snack on many blogs. It is one of those easy snacks that you can whip up in a jiffy and there is not much that one could change about it. So I changed the very main ingredient in the recipe. I replaced plantains with apples. And so you have Apple pori.
